Astrid completed her studies in Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Sciences at KU Leuven, where she developed a strong foundation in health sciences. After graduating, she gained valuable experience training both ambulant and hospitalized cancer patients in Leuven, which allowed her to apply and further expand her knowledge in a practical and meaningful way.
She is currently pursuing a PhD and is responsible for the CIPN-EX Trial, a project investigating the effects of physical rehabilitation on peripheral neuropathy induced by chemotherapeutic agents. This role enables her to combine her scientific background with her passion for exercise oncology.
Outside of her academic work, Astrid has always been actively involved in sports, both as a player and as a coach across different disciplines. This long-standing engagement has reinforced her belief in the importance of physical activity for both physical and mental well-being.
