Dra. Clarisse Bath

Clarisse is a physiotherapist and doctoral researcher within the MOVANT Research Group at the University of Antwerp. Her PhD focuses on persistent pain after finishing breast cancer treatment, a frequent and disabling condition among breast cancer survivors.

Before starting her PhD, Clarisse worked as a physiotherapist specialized in internal disorders, treating both adult and pediatric patients. During this period, she developed a strong interest in oncology and oncological rehabilitation.

Within her doctoral research, Clarisse investigates innovative rehabilitation strategies that integrate pain science education with the promotion of an active lifestyle. These strategies aim to support breast cancer survivors in understanding and managing persistent pain, helping them regain confidence, daily functioning, and participation in everyday life. This research centers on the PECAN trail which evaluates an innovative eHealth self-management support program.
