In 2022, Emma obtained her Master of Science in Clinical Psychology from Ghent University. Through various student jobs, internships, and thesis work, she gained broad experience across multiple psychology domains. Starting from November 1st, 2025, she will pursue a PhD at the Health Psychology Lab of Ghent University and the Department of Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy at the University of Antwerp. Her research will focus on developing a personalised mHealth intervention to promote an active lifestyle among cancer survivors. Supervised by Prof. Dr. Geert Crombez, Prof Dr. Annick De Paepe, Prof. Dr. De Backere and Prof. Dr. An De Groef, this interdisciplinary project bridges behavioral and engineering sciences. In the long term, the intervention aims to be implemented as part of blended care in collaboration with healthcare providers. Emma’s work lies at the intersection of psychology, physiotherapy, and digital health.
