Kaat is a final-year PhD student and physiotherapist with a strong passion for oncology and rehabilitation, two fields that have always fascinated her. Over the past four years, she has focused on the rehabilitation of patients with head and neck cancer, coordinating a randomized controlled trial on an exercise program and evaluating lymphedema. Her research and clinical work aim to improve quality of life within this unique and challenging patient population.
Kaat enjoys challenging herself through a variety of sports, including volleyball, spinning, mountain biking, tennis, running, and fitness, and she brings the same enthusiasm for variety and challenge to her professional life. Outside of work, she loves traveling and experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen. She finds great satisfaction in patient contact and draws energy from social connections, positivity, and life’s small moments.
