Liesbet Lauwereins is a PhD researcher at KU Leuven, specialising in the development of a bowel diary app for patients with Low Anterior Resection Syndrome (LARS) after rectal cancer surgery. She obtained her master's degree in Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy in 2019.
Her previous experience as a teaching assistant at Hasselt University (UHasselt) and as a physiotherapist at the rehabilitation centre of Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg (ZOL) has strengthened her commitment to research that improves patients' quality of life. Her work focuses on LARS and its impact on quality of life following rectal resection.
