Dra. Sophie Van Dijck

Sophie Van Dijck is a physiotherapist, teaching assistant, and PhD student at the University of Antwerp. Her research focuses on identifying the determinants of physical activity in people living with chronic pain, with particular attention to cancer survivors and individuals with chronic low back pain. She is also involved in research examining the current state of rehabilitation in oncology and exploring ways to improve it.

Drawing on her clinical experience, she aims to offer a comprehensive perspective on the complexity of physical activity in cancer survivors with pain. She is an active member of the Pain in Motion research group, an international research group that investigates the complex relationship between chronic pain and movement, where she engages in scientific projects and works to translate research into clinical practice.

As a teaching assistant, she educates future physiotherapists through courses on pain management, musculoskeletal health, and patient communication.
