Prof. Dr. An De Groef

Prof. Dr. An De Groef is a physiotherapist and associate professor at the University of Antwerp. She graduated as a physiotherapist from KU Leuven in 2012, completed a postgraduate program in manual therapy, and obtained her PhD in the field of oncological rehabilitation.
Her current research focuses on physical barriers to physical activity during and after cancer treatment. She investigates the etiological mechanisms underlying these barriers, with particular attention to pain, fatigue, and shoulder problems after breast cancer. In addition, she focuses on the assessment of these symptoms, their relationship with physical activity, and the development of interventions to promote movement in people who have (had) cancer.
